The reign of Philip IV represented the peak of the arts in the Spanish Empire, with figures such as Lope de Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Quevedo and Velázquez shining at court. However, it also marked the beginning of the decline of the empire, with wars, corruption and the decline of the House of Habsburg.

In this context, a mysterious and fascinating character emerges, a mixture of actor, comedian, singer and jester, who serves as the central thread in El Rey de la Farándula. Through this Golden Age cabaret, this character – lover, confidant and spy – transports the audience between eras, revealing secrets and anecdotes from the court of Philip IV. With a sarcastic, provocative and at the same time moving tone, she offers us a human and emotional vision of the monarch and his time.

With an androgynous and baroque aesthetic, and accompanied by his inseparable pianist, he will perform Renaissance and baroque songs by Monteverdi, José Marín and Juan Hidalgo, as well as contemporary themes. He will recite poems by Quevedo and perform passages from Lope and Calderón, building a versatile, vibrant and graceful show, where past and present merge without time barriers.
